ORLANDO – The UCF women's basketball team hits the road for the final time in the regular season, heading to Philadelphia to face Temple at 2 p.m. on Saturday in McGonigle Hall.

The game between the Knights (19-3, 11-1 The American) and the Owls (12-10, 7-4 The American) will stream live on ESPN+.

KNIGHT NOTES

  • UCF enters Saturday atop the American Athletic Conference standings. The Knights have a 2.5 game lead over second place South Florida.
  • The Knights have held back-to-back opponents to 35 points or less and rank second in the nation by allowing just 49.3 points per game. UCF is also fourth nationally in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to a 34.0 field goal percentage.
  • UCF averages 11.3 steals this season, which ranks 17th in the country, and is 26th with 19.82 turnovers forced. The Black and Gold have forced each opponent this season into double-digit turnovers, with nine committing 20+ turnovers.
  • Diamond Battles paces the Knights with 14.4 points per game, having reached double figures in 16 contests this season. The Winter Haven, Fla., native is one of three league players with six or more 20-point contests this season.
  • Tay Sanders is UCF's second-leading scorer on the season, averaging 10.5 points per game.
  • Masseny Kaba enters Wednesday on a seven-game double-digit scoring streak, the longest of her career, and is averaging 9.4 points per game. Brittney Smith joins Kaba just shy of averaging double figures at 9.2 points per contest.
  • Alisha Lewis, who tied The American and UCF single game records with 10 steals against Houston, ranks 15th in the country in steals per game, averaging 2.82. Her 62 steals ranks 30th among Division I student-athletes.
  • Destiny Thomas leads UCF and ranks 140th nationally with 7.7 rebounds per game. She is one of six league players with eight or more games with 10+ rebounds this season.
  • The Knights, who have appeared among the teams receiving votes in 13 straight USA Today/WBCA Top 25 polls so far, jumped back into the receiving votes section in the AP Top 25 on Feb. 14.

 
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls are 12-10 overall and have won three of their last four contests coming into Saturday. Temple is 7-4 in league play and sit fourth in the league standings.
 
Mia Davis leads the way with 18.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest. She ranks 35th nationally and leads the conference in points per game. Alexa Williamson adds 9.8 points per game for Temple. Aniya Gourdine has two triple-doubles this season and has been named The American Freshman of the Week five times. She averages 7.9 points per game, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
 
Temple holds a 9-8 advantage in the all-time series, but the Knights have won three of the last four meetings.
 
NEXT UP
UCF returns to Orlando for its final two contests of the regular season. The Knights host Cincinnati on Feb. 26 before closing out the homestand against Tulsa on March 2.
