ORLANDO – The UCF track and field team is back in action this weekend, returning to Clemson for the two-day Tiger Paw Invitational.
Both track and field events begin at noon on Friday, with the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump starting off the weekend.
Saturday begins with the high jump at 11 a.m., with the 800-meter run set for a noon start.
Both days of the meet will stream on the ACCNX.
UCF enters the weekend ranked 46th in the USTFCCCA national rankings, and is sixth in the South Region. The Knights have five events that landed in the top 10 of the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings. Triple jump leads the way at fourth; the 60-meter dash ranks sixth and the long jump and 60-meter and 400-meter dashes each hold the No. 8 slot.
The Knights have been on a roll during the indoor season, seeing five school and freshmen records fall in the first three meets. Last weekend, Brittany Floyd broke her own record in the heptathlon. Rayniah Jones won the 60-meter dash on her way to repeating as the American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
The Tiger Paw Invitational serves as one final outing before the Knights head to Birmingham for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship, Feb. 25-26.
