ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 14 UCF men's tennis team will head up the road to face No. 3 Florida at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
 
The match will have live stats and will be live streamed.
 
UCF officially opened the 2022 season earlier this week, taking on top-10 team, No. 8 Georgia. Bogdan Pavel grabbed a point for the Knights with a win over Miguel Perez Pena on court six.
 
With one match under their belts, the Knights moved to No. 14 in the most recent ITA Ranking.
 
In the ITA end of fall rankings, Trey Hilderband earned his highest singles ranking of 16th. In doubles, Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel were ranked No. 22 while Hilderbrand and Lleyton Cronje also earned a top 50 ranking of 41.
 
THE FIELD
THE GATORS
The defending national champion, No. 3 Florida, is coming off a split weekend where it saw two top-five matchups. The Gators first fell to No. 5 TCU, 3-4, before defeating No. 3 Texas, 4-3, on the road.
 
In the most recent ITA end of fall rankings, the Gators have five singles ranked, No. 2 Ben Shelton, No. 61 Mattias Siimar, No. 79 Nate Bonetto, No. 107 Andres Andrade, and No. 111 Joshua Goodger while they also have four doubles ranked, including No. 14 Abedallah Shelbayh/Mattias Siimar, No. 39 Andres Andrade/Duarte Vale, No. 51 Andres Andrade/Mattias Siimar and No.55 Nate Bonetto/Lukas Greif.
 
Last season, the Gators topped the Knights in the first matchup of the season in Orlando and went on to win the NCAA Championship while Sam Riffice became the NCAA Singles Champion.
