ORLANDO - USA TODAY Sports announced its all-bowl team for the 2021 college football bowl season this week and UCF's Matthew Lee was among the student-athletes honored.
Lee was one of the 11 offensive players honored and one of five offensive linemen, joining Georgia's Jamaree Salyer, Arkansas's Ricky Stromberg, Oklahoma's Marquis Hayes, and Minnesota's Daniel Faalele.
While fighting throuh injuries all season, Lee managed to start in 12 of 13 games at center during the 2021 campaign, helping to lead the Knights to a 9-4 overall record.
Lee's work on the offensive line in the 2021 Gasparilla Bowl propelled the Knights to 29-17 victory over Florida. UCF rushed for 288 yards in the game and its 50 rushing attempts were a Gasparilla Bowl record.
Lee returns to the Knights as a redshirt junior in 2022. Spring practice for UCF begins later this year.
