In the spring of 2019, the AAC and ESPN agreed to a 12-year media rights extension beginning in 2020-21. Under the agreement of the extension, hundreds of additional AAC sports events annually will be distributed on the ESPN+ digital platform.

What does this mean for American Athletic Conference fans?
• In football, in addition to The American's games continuing to appear on ESPN networks (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU), select conference-controlled home games will be available exclusively on ESPN+. In 2020, it is projected that about 16 games will be on ESPN+, with the intention of at least one of each team, home or away.
• In men's basketball, every regular season game that is not distributed on ESPN's traditional television networks will be available exclusively on ESPN+.
• If not on ESPN2 or ESPNU, every other women's basketball home game will be on ESPN+.
• Additionally, ESPN+ will feature hundreds of American Athletic Conference events from other sports, including volleyball, men's and women's soccer, softball, baseball and women's lacrosse and more.
• All American Athletic Conference Championship events that are not aired on ESPNU will also be distributed on ESPN+.
