Dourado, Vivi Named to All-East Region Team

Opens in a new window United Soccer Coaches Men's All-Region Teams

ORLANDO, Fla. – Following a season in which they were the top two scorers on the roster, Lucca Dourado and Gino Vivi of the UCF men's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team.

Dourado was near the top of the national leader board in goals scored all season long as he recorded 13 goals and tallied 28 points this fall. Heading into the American Athletic Conference tournament final, Dourado was first in the conference in goals, points and game-winning goals and was top ten nationally in all of those categories. At one point during the campaign, he was the solo leader in goals and goals per game. The Sao Paulo, Brazil native was unanimously named to The American's All-Conference First Team, the only Knight to land on the top squad. Dourado has already compiled 17 goals and 37 points in his two seasons with the Black and Gold.

This season's nod is Vivi's second of his career after earning a spot on the First Team in 2020-21. He posted career numbers this fall, acheiving seven goals as well as a career-high 20 points. Vivi was on fire down the stretch, scoring three goals at the American Athletic Conference Championship and earning The American's Most Outstanding Offensive Player award at the end of the tournament. Vivi was a force to be reckoned with throughout the campaign, tallying two five-point nights by scoring two goals and gathering an assist on the road against Temple in late October and then again facing Memphis in the conference tournament.

The San Jose, Costa Rica native is climbing into the record book when it comes to career stats, as he now sits in a tie of eighth place on UCF's career assists list with Matias Pyysalo, Billy Judino and Eric Vasquez each earning 18. Vivi is nine points away from a tie of tenth on the Black and Gold's career points list.

Oddly enough, both Vivi and Dourado are each six scores away from jumping into a tie of tenth on the Knights' career goals list, with each collecting 17 in their career. Dating back to the later part of the 2020-21 season, Vivi and Dourado have combined for 28 of UCF's last 51 goals. This season, Vivi and Dourado were responsible for 20 of the Knights' 43 goals scored.

The Black and Gold have seen eight players earn 16 All-East Region nods over the past five seasons. Yoni Sorokin and Yannik Oettl were named to an All-Region team three times with Vivi, Yanis Leerman, Cal Jennings and Louis Perez making a squad twice. Dourado and Pyysalo each have seen their name selected once.
