ORLANDO, Fla. – Highlighted by hosting the ITA Kickoff Weekend for the first time in program history at the USTA National Campus, the Knights have released their challenging, 2022 dual match season schedule.
The Knights will play 22-regular season dual matches with 13 of them at home. Most notably, 19 of the 22 opponents were ranked in 2021, including three of the top-10 teams of the No. 1, Florida, No. 3 Texas, and No. 9 Georgia. The Knights saw 17 of the 22 teams last season and only dropped two matchups with notable wins over Wake Forest, Arkansas and Florida State. To view the 2022 spring schedule, click here.
UCF will open the season against Georgia at home on January 17 before taking on last season's national champions, Florida, on January 22 in Gainesville.
The Knights then host the ITA Kickoff Weekend on January 30-31 against No. 51 Louisville and No. 19 Stanford or No. 23 Tulane for the first time in program history.
During the month of February, UCF will be on the road for all six matches. The Knights will first head to No. 12 Wake Forest on February 4 before seeing the likes of No. 26 NC State on February sixth. They then take on No. 54 Florida State on February 11 and No. 3 Texas on the 13th. ITA National Indoors will be held the following weekend of February 18-21 in Seattle, Washington. UCF closes out the month at No. 21 Ohio State on February 25th and at No. 40 Arkansas on the 27th.
The Knights return home for all eight matches in the month of March at the USTA National Campus. The Knights first host No. 65 Florida Gulf Coast on March 4th followed by No. 49 Michigan on the fifth. They then host a double header against North Florida and Stetson on March 11. UCF will see two Big Ten teams of Nebraska and No. 17 Illinois on March 16th and 18h respectively, followed by No. 63 FAU on the 20th.
The Knights will face conference foes the rest of the way, beginning with No. 45 SMU at homr on March 25th to close out the month.
UCF will be back on the road, taking on No. 23 Tulane on April 3, No. 46 Tulsa on the eighth, and No. 35 Memphis on the 10th. The regular season will end at home with the War On I-4 on April 16th against No. 29 South Florida, a team the Knights beat all three times last season.
The American Athletic Conference Tournament is set for April 21-24.
UCF is ready to build off a historic season where it went 22-4 overall and undefeated in conference play. The Knights won their first AAC title with a win over South Florida in the conference tournament championship match. UCF also made a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament and finished the season ranked 11th in the country.
