DripU Report: Gasparilla Bowl

With a trip to Tampa to end the season, it only makes sense for UCF to roll with a great road combo that saw plenty of success the last time the team played inside Raymond James Stadium.

The Knights will be donning black helmets to match with white jerseys and black pants for the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl. This look, which includes the shimmering chrome gold stack UCF that we haven't seen on the black lids since the last time we saw this exact combo, is perfect for this game.

In some ways, the evolution of this look has highlighted UCF's growth as a program. After the redesign, Black/White/Black was first worn on the road against Michigan in 2016, as the Knights were still in the very early days of rebuilding the program. The game did not go well. By the time the combo was re-worn three years later, UCF was on top of the world and beat Temple by more than 40 points. In the combo's most recent appearance a year after that, the Knights put up 58 points on rival South Florida to tie the War on I-4 series.

Now, UCF has a chance to give this combo another storied entry.

The Knights will also be honoring former UCF running back Otis Anderson, who passed away earlier this month. His iconic peace sign will be on display in chrome gold on every Knight's helmet.
