ORLANDO – Former UCF men's golfer Connor Arendell qualified for the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open, part of the PGA TOUR, after winning the open qualifier in Houston, Texas on Monday with a 10-under 62 score.
Arendell played a bogey-free round of golf and birdied 10 out of 18 holes to take first place and secure his spot in the upcoming Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open. This will be the second PGA TOUR event Arendell will play in this year as he also played in the Rocket Mortgage Classic back in June. He shot 4-over 146 before missing the cut.
The 2021 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open will tee off on Nov. 11 and run through Nov. 14 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas.
In two seasons at UCF, Arendell averaged 73.46 strokes per round after competing in 23 tournaments. In his second season, Arendell averaged 72.43, one of the best single-season averages in program history. The Cape Coral native helped UCF win back-to-back Conference USA titles and two NCAA Regional appearances.
