Knights Advance to Sweet Sixteen at ITA Fall Nationals

SAN DIEGO, Calif.  – Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel of the UCF men's tennis team advance to the sweet sixteen at ITA Fall Nationals in San Diego, California.
 
UCF had a strong showing on day one of the tournament, going 2-0 on the day as Trey Hilderbrand earned a win in the first round of singles before picking up a doubles win with Bogdan Pavel in the first round.
 
Hilderbrand squared off against Nikola Slavic of Ole Miss in the first round of the main draw. Hilderbrand opened up strong to win the first set, 6-2, but would drop the second, 2-6. He took back the momentum to win the third set in a quick 6-0 decision to advance to the sweet sixteen tomorrow.

Hilderbrand then teamed up with Bogdan Pavel in the first round of the doubles main draw. The pair faced Vlad Lobak and Gabriel Diaz Freire from LSU and was able to defeat the Tigers by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
