Dagenais Named Coach of the Year

ORLANDO, Fla – After leading the Knights to their fourth-straight conference title and NCAA berth, the UCF volleyball head coach Todd Dagenais has been named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the league office announced on Tuesday.
 
For Dagenais, the honor was the fourth of his career in the American after hauling in the award for the first time in 2014 when the Knights won the league title, again in 2018 after leading UCF to an undefeated 18-0 record in conference play to win the regular season title, and in 2020 when the Knights went won the regular season and conference championship tournament titles. Dagenais now has five American Athletic Conference titles in the last eight seasons.
 
"I'm blessed to have the best staff in the country, not only the coaching staff, but the people surrounding the team," head coach Todd Dagenais said, "That means that we're the best and it is a tribute to the quality of people we have around our student-athletes to help them achieve everything in life that they want to have."

Coach Dagenais now has five conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances under his belt (2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021). Dagenais is also UCF Volleyball's all-time winningest head coach with 279 career victories with the Knights.

The All-Conference recognition doesn't stop with Coach Dagenais. Five Knights were named All-Conference while McKenna Melville was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year and Amber Olson was named the Setter of the Year.

Back in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth season in a row, Dagenais and the Knights will open the tournament against Pepperdine on Friday, December 3 in Los Angeles, California. The first-round match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
