ORLANDO, Fla. – After closing out the regular season on a 15-game win streak with another undefeated weekend over Tulane and Houston, the Knights swept the weekly honors as McKenna Melville was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Nerissa Moravec was named the Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
"It's quite the tribute to the consistency of the team when we can go on the road and pull out two huge victories of the last weekend of the conference season," head coach Todd Dagenais said, "McKenna and Nerissa played a huge role offensively and defensively and they deserve these individual awards. We're really happy with what the team was able to accomplish on the road on a crazy schedule with pretty much everything stacked against us. We went out there and we were successful."
This marks Melville's seventh honor this season and 14th in her career.
Melville notched a double-double in both matches, marking her 17th this season and 69th in her career. The outside hitter recorded 43 kills (5.38 per set), 28 digs (3.50 per set), 10 blocks, including three solos, and added one ace over the weekend for a total of 50.5 points (6.31 per set).
In the sweep over Tulane, Melville picked up 19 kills, 13 digs, two blocks, and one ace. In the five-set win over Houston, Melville recorded 24 kills, 15 digs, and a career-high eight blocks, including two block solos.
The Eagan, Minnesota native is back on top and leads the nation in 657.5 points and 578 kills again.
This honor marks Moravec's fourth-career honor and second this season.
Moravec was dominate at the net as she totaled 17 blocks, including two solos. She also notched 15 kills (1.88 per set) while hitting .464 for a total of 24.5 points (3.06 per set).
In the sweep over Tulane, Moravec recorded eight kills hitting .583 and added three blocks. In the five-set win over Houston, Moravec broke two program match records with 14 total blocks and 13 block assists. She also added seven kills while hitting .375.
UCF earned 12 total player of the week honors this season and eight honor rolls.

The Knights are set to play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Pepperdine on Friday, December 3, in Los Angeles, California.
