Men's Hoops Receiving Votes in USA Today Coaches Poll

Opens in a new window USA Today Coaches Poll

ORLANDO – Following a strong undefeated start to the 2021-22 season that has seen the UCF men's basketball team open play 4-0, the Knights are receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, released Monday afternoon.

The Knights' appearance in the poll marks their first since Dec. 28, 2020 and their 20th under head coach Johnny Dawkins (2016-present).

UCF is one of three teams out of the American Athletic Conference ranked or receiving votes in the Coaches Poll, as Memphis and Houston checked in at 10 and 11, respectively.

The Knights haven't put together a 4-0 start since 2017-18, when they opened played with four straight wins before going on to post a 19-13 overall record. This season marks the second time the Knights have opened a season 4-0 under Dawkins, and just the third time in the last decade and a half that it has happened (2010-11, 2017-18).

UCF will look to keep its strong start to the season going on Saturday, Nov. 27 as the Knights welcome Oklahoma to Addition Financial Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
