Piddon Named Conference Women's Golfer of the Month

ORLANDO – UCF women's golf junior Tunrada Piddon was named the American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month following a strong month of October that included a first place overall finish at the Evie Odom Invitational, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Golfer of the Month awards marks the second of Piddon's career as she also picked up the honor in October 2019.

"Pat is one of the most consistent players we have ever had. She is super talented and has a chance to win any tournament she tees it up in," said head coach Emily Marron. "Our schedule provides Pat the opportunity to showcase her talent against the best players in college golf and she consistently proves she can hang with all of them."

Piddon turned in the best tournament score in UCF program history on the way to a five-shot win at the Evie Odom Invitational on Oct. 3-5 at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Piddon shined with rounds of 67-66-67=200 (-10) to best the prior Knights scoring record established by Elizabeth Moon (-7 score of 203) at the 2018 edition of the Evie Odom Invitational (previously known as the Princess Anne Invitational). The highlight of Piddon's final round was an ace at the par-3, 146-yard seventh hole that keyed a 3-under-par 32 on the front nine.

Following the end of the fall portion of the women's golf schedule, Piddon leads all Knights with a 70.91 scoring average.

Officially done for the Fall, The Knights will be back in action in February as they will host their annual home tournament of the season, the UCF Challenge, from Feb. 6 – 8 in Orlando, Florida.
