For Homecoming Week, UCF always likes to do something a little extra special for the team's uniforms. This year, that means donning an all-time whiteout.
The Knights will honor their past this Saturday by breaking out the throwback "State of UCF" logo for just the second time since this century. We most recently saw a version of this decal back in 2018 on a black helmet with anthracite jerseys and pants.
But this time, it's all white everything and the logo has never looked better than on a clean white background. Its pairing with the black sword stripe and the usual black face masks plays off the black of the "UCF" in the logo that also matches up with the jersey numbers.
And the gold state of Florida, in an updated shade from its 90s days, matches perfectly with the trim of the numbers. It's a complete look that makes perfect sense for a whiteout. When you've got a logo this good and this nostalgic, it should be front and center.
It's particularly special to have a full uniform that can feature the throwback logo, the modern stack UCF and the Pegasus all at the same time.
The Knights have had some flat-out epic helmet designs this year and they just don't stop coming. Getting a throwback helmet a week removed from the script Knights lid and two weeks after the Space Game has helped UCF to look truly unique in every game while still maintaining its larger identity.
And, as we pointed out last week, the Knights will now have worn white jerseys in four straight games. But that span includes three unique jerseys. That's a stat that fans who were around when this throwback helmet was first worn in the 80s could only have dreamed of.
