TULSA, Okla. – The UCF men's tennis closed out competition at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma in both the main singles consolation and doubles consolation.
Beginning the tournament in the qualifying singles draw, Trey Hilderbrand defeated three opponents to secure his spot in the main draw. He then faced No.27 Broska from Mississippi State in the opening round of the main draw, but fell 6-1, 6-3.
Today, Hilderbrand moved to the main consolation draw to face No. 125 Tim Zeitvogel. He dropped the first set and was edged out in the second as he fell 6-2, 7-6(4).
In doubles action, No. 3 Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel opened the tournament yesterday as the No. 1 seed in the main draw. The duo faced Richard Ciamarra and Cleeve Harper from Texas in a hard-fought battle that came down to the very end as they fell in 7-6(3), 3-6, 10-8.
The pair played in the main consolation draw this evening against No. 39 Chris Rodesch/Ryan Goetz from Virginia. Hilderbrand and Pavel were unable to hold on as they dropped the match by a 6-4, 7-5 decision.
