Hilderbrand Advances to Singles Final at ITA Regionals

GAINESVILLE, Fla.  – Trey Hilderbrand of the UCF men's tennis team advanced to the singles final at ITA Southeast Regionals in Gainesville, Florida.
 
Trey Hilderbrand opened the day in the elite eight. It took extra, but Hilderbrand was able to get the win in straight sets over Nate Bonetto from Florida on his home court with scores of 7-5, 7-5.
 
Hilderbrand then moved on to the final four to face Alvaro Fernandez Horta of FAU. Hilderbrand also grabbed the win in straight sets but had a battle in the second set. He won the match in 6-2, 7-6(4), to advance to the singles final.
 
On Monday, Hilderbrand will face No. 31 Andres Martin from Georgia Tech in the singles final.
 
JC Roddick also represented UCF in the elite eight as he had a great run in his first ITA Regionals tournament. Roddick took on Dominik Barton from UNF but was unable to hang on as he fell by scores of 6-1, 6-2.
