ORLANDO – The UCF men's golf team closed out the 2021 edition of the Isleworth Collegiate, the Knights' prestigious home event of the season, on Tuesday in Windermere, Florida with a combined score of 291(+3), bringing the Knights' three-day total to 877(+13), good for eighth place overall.
UCF senior Johnny Travale, who is the reigning champion at the Isleworth Collegiate, nearly finished with his third straight victory of the season in the final round of the collegiate as he shot 3-under 69, bringing his total to 210(-6), but Illinois's Piercen Hunt came on late and birdied two of the final three holes to overtake Travale and secure the individual title. Travale finished in second place overall.
Regardless of the overall outcome, head coach Bryce Wallor liked what he saw on the course throughout the event. "There's so many positives to take away," said Wallor. "I don't think we came even close to playing our best and we're still right in the middle of the field. I think for this group, the future is kind of bright."

After a slow start to the tournament, first-year Knight Markus Braadlie bounced back with an even final round of play as he shot 72 to bring his three-day total to 230(+14), putting him in 65th place.
Rounding things out for the Knights, Luis Carrera finished with an overall score of 225(+9) and Egor Eroshenko finished at 228(+12), good for T-45 and T-58, respectively.
