ORLANDO – It was a solid first day for UCF men's golf head coach Bryce Wallor and his squad on Sunday at the Isleworth Collegiate as the Knights shot a combined 292(+4) to finish the first round tied for eighth place out of 14 teams.

Fresh off back-to-back individual wins, senior Johnny Travale led the charge for UCF in round one, knocking down five birdies to secure a 2-under 70 total, tying him for sixth place. The Hamilton, Ontario, Canada native was the individual champion in the Isleworth Collegiate (then the Tavistock Collegiate) back in 2019.
After a slow front nine where he shot three-over-par, senior Teddy Tetak found his groove on the back nine to shoot two-under-par, bringing his day one total to 73(+1). Meanwhile, second-year Knight Egor Eroshenko also turned in a 1-over 71 performance. The pair are tied for 22nd place following day one action.
Rounding things out for the Knights, Luis Carrera is tied for 49th place after opening play with a 4-over 76 and Markus Braadlie carded a 7-over 79 to sit tied for 65th place after the first round. Playing individually, UCF senior Clement Charmasson shot an even 72 to finish day one tied for 17th place.
The Knights will be back on the course Monday morning as they will tee off on hole one at 8 a.m. UCF will be paired with LSU and Cal.
