ORLANDO - The UCF men's golf team will look to defend its title as the Knights gear up to host the 2021 Isleworth Collegiate in Windermere, Florida, taking place from Oct. 17-19.

The Knights will welcome some of the top programs in the nation to the Isleworth Collegiate. UCF is the defending champions at the Isleworth Collegiate (formerly the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational) as the Knights won the event back in 2019 with an 844(-20) total. The Knights' 54-hole total was 14 shots lower than the next best school, LSU, who shot 858(-6) in the three rounds of play. UCF's victory also came at the expense of some of the top ranked programs in the nation, including then No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 7 Arizona State and No. 18 Texas.

Then sophomore Johnny Travale led the charge for the Knights, earning the top individual spot at the tournament with a 204(-12) total, beating out 74 of some of the best collegiate golfers in the world. His 204-shot total is the fifth best 54-hole mark in program history.

Travale is off to a hot start again in 2021. The Hamilton, Ontario, Canada native is coming off a week that saw him finish first overall at the Carolina Collegiate Invitational with a 7-under 209 score.  With the win, Travale earned an automatic exemption to play in the BMW Charity Pro-Am, part of the Korn Ferry TOUR, from June 9-12, 2022. The win was Travale's second straight as he also placed first overall at the Hartford Hawks Invitational back in September after shooting 205(-11). Travale has three career wins in total.

The Knights are only two tournaments removed from a first place overall finish as a team. On Sept. 21, for the fourth straight year, the Knights were crowned champions at the Hartford Hawks Invitational after beating out the next best team by 35 strokes.
