ORLANDO – Former UCF Men's Basketball big man Tacko Fall had his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers converted into a two-way deal on Saturday, keeping the 7-foot-6 center with the Cavs for the 2021-22 season.
The two-way contract marks the second of Fall's young career after he signed a similar deal with the Boston Celtics in 2019.
Fall will now get set to play the majority of the 2021-22 season with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers' G League affiliate. He will also have the opportunity to play up to 45 days with the Cavaliers this season.
Fall posted solid numbers in limited minutes this preseason, averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks over 11.8 minutes per game in three contests. Much like his playing stints in Boston, the Dakar, Senegal native was a spark plug on both ends of the floor for Cleveland.

Fall is UCF's all-time leader in blocked shots and field goal percentage. The former UCF star racked up a number of impressive accolades during his time in the Black and Gold as he was named the 2017 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, a 2017 Defensive All-American, and a 2019 All-Conference honoree in The American. He led the Knights to their first NCAA Tournament berth in over a decade and the program's first NCAA Tournament win, a first-round victory over VCU in 2019.
His career field goal percentage of 74.0 percent (497-for-672) set a new NCAA Division I record, and he holds the top four single-season field goal percentage marks in UCF history.
Fall played in 18 games in 2020-21 for the Boston Celtics, averaging 2.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots in 7.6 minutes and has also appeared in two career playoff games with the Celtics. In 2019-20, Fall appeared in 29 games (11 starts) in the NBA G-League for the Maine Celtics, averaging 12.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in 23 minutes. He went undrafted in 2019 after playing four seasons at University of Central Florida (2015-2019).
The Cavaliers begin regular season action on Oct. 20 at the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Charge open up the 2021-22 season on Nov. 6 at home against the Motor City Cruise.
