Wednesday, Oct. 13 | 7:00 PM

ORLANDO, Fla. –The UCF volleyball team (12-6, 5-1) will take I-4 to Tampa, Florida for a mid-week matchup against South Florida (6-11, 0-6) for the first of two War On I-4 meetings this season. The rivalry is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, from the Yuengling Center.
Wednesday's matchup will have live stats and can be streamed via ESPN+.
"To the coaches, it means nothing, to the team it might mean school pride," head coach Todd Dagenais, "But we're on a business trip. We have big goals in our minds and they just happen to be the next one that stands between us."
UCF split the weekend against Houston and Tulane. The Knights fell to Houston in a five-set heartbreaker on Friday night at home before bouncing back to beat Tulane in four on Sunday. UCF will get another chance at Houston in the final regular season match in November.
Anne-Marie Watson was named to this week's honor roll as she was a key player last weekend. Watson notched 24 kills (2.67 per set) while hitting .362, added 27.5 points (3.06 per set) and seven blocks.
McKenna Melville earned her fourth-straight double-double over the weekend, posting 16 kills and 13 digs against Houston and 14 kills and 10 digs against Tulane.
WAR ON 1-4
This will be the first of two War On I-4 matchups this season as the Bulls will make the trip to Orlando later this season.
The War on I-4 has been all Knights since the two programs joined the American Athletic Conference back in 2013. A victory would push their streak over South Florida to 17-straight wins.
UCF has not lost to USF since 2012, or 3,334 days ago.

The last time UCF lost to South Florida,
- Two Knights were nine years old
- Obama was still in his first term
- The Apple Watch hadn't been invented yet
- Instagram Stories weren't a thing
- Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style topped the charts
- The first Avengers movie just came out
- Disney had not purchased Star Wars yet
- The Knights were a part of Conference USA
- The iPhone 5 was state-of-the-art
South Florida (6-11, 0-6) is on a six-game losing streak since opening conference play but had two close five-set matches against Tulane and Cincinnati. Marta Cvitkovic leads the Bulls with 195 kills (3.10 per set) and 23 service aces this season while Tizi Puljiz has posted four double-doubles. The Knights are on a 16-game winning streak and have not lost since 2012 before being a part of the American Athletic Conference.
[On playing South Florida]
I think you're looking at a team that maybe hasn't quite put it all together, but they're loaded with talent. They have athleticism in every position and once they put that together there could be a really dangerous team.
