Men's Golf Opens Strong at Carolina Collegiate Invitational

ORLANDO – After a nearly three-week hiatus, the UCF men's golf team was back on the golf course Monday playing the opening rounds of the Carolina Collegiate Invitational in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The Knights finished day one of the two-day tournament in second place after shooting a combined 565(-7). UCF is currently nine strokes behind leaders High Point University (557, -16). To view the full leaderboard on Golfstat.com, click here.

First-year Knight Markus Braadlie is in first place with a score of 134(-10) to open the first two rounds of play. Playing as an individual, Braadlie had a solid first round at 2-under 70, but it was the second round where the Baerum, Norway native hit his stride.

Braadlie shot a tournament-low 64(-8) in round two, tied for fourth-lowest 18-hole total in UCF history. At 134(-10), he currently hold a one-stroke lead over second place.

Luis Carrera finished the opening rounds in fourth place after shooting 70-68=138(-6), which included an eagle in round one. Teammate Johnny Travale also eagled in the following round. Travale was the round one leader for UCF, carding a 3-under 69. He followed it up with a 2-under 70 to sit tied for fifth place.

After opening with a slow round one, sophomore Egor Eroshenko posted a 3-under 69 round two to finish the day tied for 11th place. Meanwhile, currently tied for 32nd place is senior Teddy Tetak, who shot 72-74=146(+2). Rounding things out, senior Clement Charasson shot 149(+5) over two rounds to sit tied for 49th place.

The Knights will look to finish strong in the final round of the invitational Tuesday morning. UCF tees off on hole one at 9:30 a.m. ET. It will be streamed live through Gamekast, with cameras on all 18 tee boxes and all 18 greens. Fans will have to register for a free account to access the stream.
