HARRIS, Mich. – The UCF men's golf team wrapped up play in their first tournament of the 2021-22 season on Monday. Clement Charmasson posted a top five overall finish and the Knights shot 872(+8) to beat out the likes of Michigan, Kentucky and more en route to a second-place finish at the Island Resort Collegiate in Harris, Michigan.
After posting a tournament-low 66(-6) score to open the tournament, Charmasson held steady with scores of 73(+1) in round two and 74(+2) in round three to finish the tournament tied for third place with a 66-73-74=213(-3) total.
Also posting a top-10 finish, Luis Carrera made a statement in his first event as a Knight, carding a 1-under 71 on the final day to move to 219(+3) overall. Not far behind was Egor Eroshenko, who finished even with par in round three to find himself tied for 17th overall with a 222(+6) final score.
The final two Knights in the lineup both finished tied for 35th place as Johnny Travale and Jonah Leach both turned in 227(+11) scores to open the season.

Up next, UCF will enjoy next weekend off from competition before heading north to South Kent, Connecticut for the Hartford Hawks Invitational from September 20-21. The Black and Gold are three-time reigning champions at the Hartford Hawks Invitational after taking first place in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
