RALEIGH, N.C. – The UCF men's soccer team is set for its next match as they'll face NC State on Monday at 7 p.m. The contest will be the second and final match for each side in the George Tarantini Classic in Raleigh, N.C.

Both the Knights and the Wolfpack received votes in the latest edition of the United Soccer Coaches Poll and are each coming off a loss in their last match. UCF saw Lucca Dourado score in the first half against No. 10 Virginia Tech but surrendered two second half goals within 18 seconds of each other to fall 2-1. NC State squared off with No. 20 Seton Hall on their home pitch and fell by a count of 3-1 after being tied at one at the half.

Gino Vivi and Dourado have been quite the dynamic duo for the Knights as they have scored 12 of UCF's last 15 goals. Dourado has been responsible for seven of the 12 goals and has scored six of the last 10 Knight goals. The pair scored the first three goals of the 2021 season and the final five of the 2020-21 campaign. The Black and Gold will be without Dourado in Monday's contest as he was shown two yellow cards in Friday's match.

Prior to their loss to No. 20 Seton Hall, the Wolfpack beat USC Upstate and UNC Asheville by scores of 2-0 and 4-0 to get them to a 2-1 record this season. Luke Hille leads the team in goals and points, scoring a trio of goals in just two games played and four shots on goal.

The Black and Gold have only met NC State once which was back in 1979. The UCF men's soccer program was in its fifth season of existence when the two sides met as the Wolfpack beat the Knights 2-0.
