ORLANDO - The Knights are well on their way to a fourth straight championship at the Hartford Hawks Invitational as UCF is in first place following the first day of play on Monday.
With a combined score of 284(-4), UCF leads second place UConn by four strokes. Meanwhile, first-year Knight Nicholas Estrada, who is playing in the event as an individual, is tied for first place with a 68(-4) score.
UCF seniors Clement Charmasson and Johnny Travale also sit comfortably in the top five with scores of 69(-3) after a solid day one.
First-year Knight Markus Braadlie finished even with par on Monday after shooting 72, good for 14th place. As did Egor Eroshenko, who is the second Knight to participate as an individual in the event.
Rounding things out, Luis Carrera and Teddy Tetak both turned in scores of 74(+2) sit tied for 28th place at the end of round one.
Due to darkness, play on Monday was suspended for the before the conclusion of round two. The round will resume tomorrow morning, with Round three to follow.
