ORLANDO – The UCF women's golf team checked in at number six in the initial Golfweek Top-25 rankings, released on Saturday. The ranking is the highest in program history.
Individually, UCF's Tunrada Piddon and Camille Banzet are ranked as the 25th and 26th highest golfers in the nation.
The Knights are coming off a solid opening week that saw them finish tied for fifth place overall at the Cougar Classic with a score of 861(-3). At fifth place and with scores of 289-284-288=861(-3), the Knights tied North Carolina and placed higher than No. 23 Vanderbilt and No. 22 Maryland in their first event of the season.
In 2020-21, for the third time in five seasons, the Knights earned an NCAA Regional bid after finishing fourth in the American Athletic Conference Championship. The Knights' top finish of the spring came in the final tournament of the season, winning the Brickyard Invitational. UCF women's golf earned a pair of conference honors as Tunrada Piddon and Ana Laura Collado were named All-American Athletic Conference, each for the first time in their careers. UCF entered the NCAA Louisville Regional ranked No. 34, where they shot a +17 across the three-round tournament, finishing tied for 8th and missing advancing to the National Championship by two strokes.
