YAOUNDE, Cameroon – UCF forward Masseny Kaba is currently in Yaounde, Cameroon, competing for the Guinea National Team at the 2021 FIBA Women's AfroBasket tournament.
 
Guinea is one of 12 nations competing at the Palais Polyvalent des sports de Yaounde. The tournament tipped off on September 18 and runs through September 26.
 
Through the first two contests, Kaba is averaging 9.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest. She is Guinea's leading rebounder and blocker and is second on the squad in scoring. Her three blocks against Egypt bumped her into a tie for the fifth-most in the tournament.
 
Kaba and Guinea are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
 
An American Athletic Conference All-Tournament selection in 2020-21, Kaba has been a consistent starter and team captain during her four-year career with the Black and Gold. She enters the 2021-22 season ranked seventh on UCF's career rebounding list with 672 boards and is eighth in blocks with 82. Kaba has been the Knights' leading rebounder in each of the last two seasons.
 
UCF opens its 2021-22 schedule hosting Duquesne on Nov. 9 in Addition Financial Arena.
