GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team took on South Carolina on day two of the Gator Fall Invite. Six Knights saw action on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.
JC Roddick earned his first career win as a Knight after edging out Jake Beasley in a tight match, 7-6(5), 6-4.
Quinn Snyder also picked up a close-match win over Carter Morgan with a score of 7-6(4), 6-4.
Up against top ranked singles players, the Knights put up a fight. Trey Hilderbrand nearly got the upset over No. 3 Daniel Rodrigues as he forced a long third frame, 4-6, 6-2, 6-7(6).
Bogdan Pavel fell to No. 16 Connor Thomson by a score of 3-6, 2-6 while Bryan Triana dropped his match to No. 39 Raphael Lambling 1-6, 2-6.
Playing in his first singles match for UCF, Cooper White matched up against No. 56 James Story, but would fall 3-6, 1-6.
In doubles action, No. 3 Pavel/HIlderbrand were unable to overcome the duo of Thomson and Beasley, falling 5-8. The duo of Roddick/Triana fell to Lambling and James Story by a score of 2-8 while Snyder/White took on Morgan and Beau Pelletier also fell 4-8.

The Knights will be back tomorrow for the final day of the Gator Fall Invite in Gainesville, Fla. UCF will take on NC State at 10am.
