Knights Conclude Gator Fall Invite with Three Wins

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team concluded the Gator Fall Invite with three wins against NC State on Sunday in Gainesville, Fla.
 
JC Roddick earned his second-straight win this weekend after defeating NC State's Damien Salvestre by a score of 7-5, 6-2.
 
Quinn Snyder also picked up his second win of the weekend when he took command over his match against Yannai Barkai in 6-1, 6-4.
 
Cooper White recorded his first victory as a Knight, winning 6-2, 6-2, over Collin Shick.
 
UCF came up close in other singles matches but were unable to grab the win.
 
Bogdan Pavel came out strong to take the first frame, but Martins Rocens would take the next two, 6-4, 3-6, 2-6. Bryan Triana also had a close match, but fell to Fons Van Sambeek in 6-7(1), 4-6 while Trey Hilderbrand fell to Robin Catry by a score of 2-6, 1-6. No. 88 Kento Yamada's match was retired during the third frame against Braden Shick.
 
In doubles action, Pavel and Roddick fell 3-8 to Catry and Damien Salvestre while the duo of Yamada/Triana came up close against Rocens/Shick but dropped the match, 6-8. The tandem of Snyder/White would also fall 2-8 to Sambeek/Shick.
 
UP NEXT
The Knights will have a break before the ITA  All-Americans on Oct. 2-10 in Tulsa, Okla.
