Knights Set to Host Florida Atlantic in Exhibition

Florida Atlantic vs. UCF
4 p.m. | Sunday, Aug. 8 | UCF Soccer Complex
ORLANDO, Fla. – In preparation for the 2021 campaign, the UCF women's soccer team hosts Florida Atlantic in an exhibition match Sunday at 4 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex. Admission is free for the preseason matchup.
The Knights and Owls are no strangers on the pitch, with UCF carrying a 17-5-1 advantage in the all-time series. The last time the two programs met, UCF walked away with a 1-0 OT victory in 2014.
The Black and Gold return 21 members from the 2020-21 team that competed in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including AAC Second Team All-Conference honorees Madison Murnin and Ellie Moreno, as well as All-Rookie Team member Katie Bradley. Last season, the Knights finished sixth overall in The American with a 2-4-1 mark, narrowly missing post-season play.
Florida Atlantic returns all 11 starters, 96% of all minutes played, and 100% of the goal production and in-goal minutes from the 2020-21 squad that concluded the 2020-21 spring season 5-4-2 (4-1-1 Conference-USA).
In addition to Sunday's contest, the Knights will make the trip to Coral Gables to face Miami in a 1 p.m. exhibition on Aug. 14. The UCF women's soccer team officially opens the 2021 campaign on Aug. 19, hosting Texas at the UCF Soccer Complex for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
