ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF women's soccer team is ready for its first road trip of the season, and looks to build on a strong season opener as the Knights take on Florida on Thursday, August 26 at 7 p.m. in Gainesville, Fla. UCF trails the all-time series with Florida 5-14-1 but owns a two-game win streak, defeating the Gators 3-0 at home in 2018, and 2-0 on the road in 2019.
The Black and Gold opened the 2021 campaign with a bang, defeating Texas 4-0 in the season opener last week. Kristen Scott scored just 80 seconds into the young season and added a second goal just before halftime. Darya Rajaee netted a penalty kick and Mallory Olsson knocked in a goal as well.
The Knights jumped into the top 25 after the stellar performance, checking in at No. 19 in the first United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA Women's Soccer poll of the 2021 campaign.
UCF goalkeeper Caroline DeLisle earned American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors for her performance in the shutout of Texas. She made five saves en route to her 13th clean sheet of her career.
Florida sits 0-1-1 so far this season, with a loss to South Florida and a double-overtime draw against Texas.
