Jonah Leach Joins UCF Men's Golf

ORLANDO – The Knights continue to build on an already impressive roster as UCF Men's Golf head coach Bryce Wallor announced the addition of Jonah Leach to the squad on Monday.

"We're extremely excited to welcome a hometown athlete to our roster," said Wallor. "Jonah has an impressive junior resume and we look forward to his continued success as a college golfer and as a Knight."

Leach comes to UCF from the University of Florida. The Windermere, Florida native sat out his freshman season with the Gators but boasts a strong resume from his time as a youth golfer.

In 2019, Leach was the runner-up at the Florida Junior Amateur Championships after shooting 71-70-69=210(-6). He also finished fifth overall at the 2018 AJGA Junior at Saddlebrook after carding a 2-over 144.

Other notable finishes for Leach include finishing tied for 10th at the Billy Horschel Junior Championship (75-66-68=209, -7), taking fourth place at the 2018 Jim Bell Memorial Junior (73-73-71=217,+1), placing 10th at the 2020 Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship (75-77-71, +7), and finishing 17th at the 2018 Rolex Tournament of Champions (74-76-69-73=292, +6).

Leach is the sixth new addition to the to the UCF Men's Golf 2021 class after incoming freshmen Reinaldo Simoni, Nicholas Estrada and Richard Dou already signed their national letters of intent, while the Knights also announced transfers Markus Braadlie and Luis Carrera to the squad earlier this year.
