ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 13 UCF men's soccer team is set for its final exhibition match of the preseason as they'll visit FAU on Friday at 6 p.m.
The Knights are coming off a 7-2 victory over Stetson in which the Black and Gold scored five first-half goals and got multi-goal games from Gino Vivi and Gianluca Arcangeli.
UCF squares off with FAU for the first time since 2019. The Knights earned an overtime victory over the Owls by a score of 3-2 in what was a come from behind effort. After surrendering the opening goal at the 28 second mark, the Knights struck back less than a minute later in the 2nd minute to level things at 1-1. The Owls took a lead at the beginning of the second half, tallying their second goal of the night in the 49th minute. Running out of time, the Black and Gold earned a penalty kick as Louis Perez scored his second of the night to force overtime. Cal Jennings found the match winner in the 94th minute with assists from Jonathan Dean and Perez in what was UCF's sixth straight win and eight in a row unbeaten.
The Knights are 23-8-3 all-time against FAU including a 5-0-2 tilt over their previous seven tilts. UCF faced both of their preseason foes during the 2019 regular season. 2020-21 was the first time since 1980 that the Knight's regular season schedule didn't feature FAU or Stetson.
