Knights in the Pros: Aubrey Dawkins Summer League Recap

ORLANDO – Former UCF men's basketball standout Aubrey Dawkins, who was a member of the Knights from 2016-19, wrapped up play with the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League on August 16.

Dawkins played in three of the Wizards' four Summer League games from August 10-16. He averaged 4.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

Dawkins' best game of the summer came on August 10 against the Sacramento Kings when he dropped six points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Dawkins made an impact in just one season on the court for UCF in 2018-19, helping to guide the Knights to their first ever at-large NCAA Tournament bid. The 6-foot-6 guard was named Second Team All-Conference in The American after averaging 15.6 points per game, while also grabbing 5.0 rebounds per game, totaling 34 steals, and leading UCF with a 40.0 three-point percentage on 73 attempts.

Dawkins' biggest moment came on the biggest stage, a 32-point blistering of no. 1 Duke in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. He went 12-for-18 from the floor, 5-for-7 from three-point range, dished out four assists and had three steals, as the Knights narrowly missed out on upsetting the Blue Devils.
