ORLANDO – UCF forward Isaiah Adams will be back in the Black and Gold in 2021-22 as Adams announced on Tuesday that he has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will be returning to play for the Knights this upcoming season.
"I'm looking forward to coming back," said Adams. "It will be another year together, so we should have some really good chemistry. I just want to win, and I expect us to go far."
The 6-foot-6 freshman burst onto the scene in his first year at the collegiate level in 2020-21, earning American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team honors and ranking second among all AAC freshmen in scoring while also leading all true freshmen with 9.9 points per game.
Adams earned Freshman of the Week honors three times in 2020-21 and he led the Knights with a 46.6 percent mark from the floor. His best performance of the season came at Tulane on Feb. 20, where he posted 26 points after shooting 10-of-11 from the floor, 4-of-5 from 3-point range and added five assists.
Adams entered his name for the NBA Draft earlier in the offseason but ultimately decided to return to the Knights to play another year of college basketball. He joins UCF "super seniors" Brandon Mahan and Darius Perry, who also announced they would be returning to UCF for one final season.
