Men's Basketball AAC Pairings Announced

Opens in a new window The American Schedule Pairings

ORLANDO – The American Athletic Conference announced on Thursday its schedule pairings for the 2021-22 Men's Basketball season.

The Knights, who are returning 97% of their points scored and 96% of their minutes played from the 2020-21 season, will face eight of 10 AAC teams twice during the regular season  – once at home and once on the road. The Knights will play SMU only in Dallas, while UCF and Cincinnati are set to face off only at Addition Financial Arena.

Defending league champion and NCAA Tournament Final Four team from a year ago Houston leads the crop of programs set to take on UCF twice during the 2021-22 season, which also includes in-state rival South Florida, Memphis, ECU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State.

The 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship returns to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. For the second straight year, the women's and men's tournaments will run in conjunction, with the men's championship set for March 10-13.

UCF finished the 2020-21 season 11-12 overall, including an 8-10 record in conference play. The Knights won five of their last six games before their season came to a close in the AAC Tournament.

Complete schedule details for the 2021-22 season will be released at later date.
