ORLANDO – The Knights continue to add to their 2021 incoming class as Men's Golf head coach Bryce Wallor announced on Thursday the signing of Richard Dou.
Dou comes to UCF from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he graduated from Vista virtual school. Before that, he attended Ernest Manning High School.
"Richard brings a bright and fun personality, and is also a powerful player that should do very well in his time as a collegiate golfer," said Wallor.
After posting a 73.23 scoring average in 2020-21, Dou is currently ranked 124 nationally in the class of 2021. He is ranked as the third best player in Canada overall and 15th among all international prospects. The American Junior Golf Association has Dou ranked as the 181st best junior golfer.
In 2020-21, Dou participated in over 10 events, finishing in the top 10 six times, including a first-place overall finish at the AJGA D.A. Points Junior Open from July 6-9, where he shot eight under in the final round to earn the victory. His final line at the tournament was 68-72-64=204(-12).
Dou posted another top 10 finish at the FSGA Amateur Public Links Championship, from August 7-9 as he shot under par in every round to finish with a 69-71-69=209(-7) score.
Dou posted seven top 20 finishes over the season, as well as five top 10 finishes and three top five finishes.
Over the last calendar year, Dou has shot five rounds in the 60's and has broken par in 10 rounds during his competitions while also finishing in the top 30 in all but one tournament.
