ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second straight season, Andres Hernandez Betancur has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for his efforts on and off the pitch.

Hernandez has been a staple on the UCF back line for quite some time now. Although he didn't tally a point on the scoresheet this season, he started in all 14 matches and played in over 1200 minutes. Hernandez has earned a 3.91 GPA to this point in his career and is majoring in Finance.

Hernandez is the first Knight to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team twice. Only six members of the Black and Gold have earned the honor. Cal Jennings earned a spot with Hernandez in 2019; the pair were preceded by Jake Weiss (2014), A.J. Nelson (2011), Jon Imran (2005) and Brian Malec (2003). Jennings and Malec were the only two Knights to be named as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

Hernandez has earned multiple honors in his time at UCF. He began his career by landing a spot on the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team in 2018 and later earned a spot on the All-Tournament team that same season. He was a part of the conference's All-Academic Team in 2019.

Hernandez is one of 13 student-athletes named to the CoSIDA District 4 NCAA Division I First Team, which covers the southeast United States. The district nod means that Hernandez is eligible to be part of the Academic All-American Team presented by CoSIDA, which be announced at a later date.
