ORLANDO -- The UCF track and field team's international representation has extended to the north as Jasmine Scott-Kilgo is set to compete at the Canadian Olympic trials, which are being held at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard in Montreal from June 24-27.
Scott-Kilgo will be competing for a spot on the Canadian national team in the long jump for the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. A native of Windsor, Ontario, she placed fifth in the event at the American Athletic Conference Championship in May. Her conference mark qualified her for the NCAA East Region Preliminary, becoming the first Knight to qualify in the long jump since 2013. She finished 29th at the regional meet in Jacksonville on May 27.
Scott-Kilgo is set to participate in the long jump on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. ET. The event will be streamed on AthleticsCanada.TV.
The UCF track & field program will be represented by two other Knights this weekend. Charlotte Crook will compete at the British Championships in the 1,500-meter run on Friday, June 25 at 3:38 p.m. ET while Anne Marie Blaney is set to compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the women's 10,000-meter run on Saturday, June 26 at 9:44 p.m. ET.
