ORLANDO – The American Athletic Conference announced its 2020-21 men's golf conference awards on Tuesday and UCF golfers Clement Charmasson and Johnny Travale were named to the All-Conference team as unanimous selections.
The all-conference nods mark the first for both Charmasson and Travale.
"This a very special honor for both Clement and Johnny to be unanimous selections to the all-conference team," said head coach Bryce Wallor. "Both young men have worked hard this year to earn this nomination and we are very excited for their success and even more proud that every coach in the American sees them as dominate figures on the golf course."
Charmasson earned his first all-conference honors after capping off the regular season with a season-high fifth overall finish at The American Championship, posting a 211(-5) total. The Toulouse, France native had three top-20 finishes over the shortened season and led UCF in two tournaments this season.
Charmasson ranks second on the team with a 72.5 scoring average after competing in all six team events during his junior year.
Meanwhile, Travale paced the Knights in scoring average at 71.56 after wrapping up the regular season at The American Championship with a 216(E) score over 54 holes to finish tied for 12th place.
Travale paced the Knights at four tournament this spring and was named conference golfer of the week on April 7 after finishing tied for sixth place at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with a 69-69-71=209(-7) score.
The Knights rounded out the regular season on April 25 with a fifth-place finish at The American Championship in Brooksville, Florida, shooting 869(+5).
Travale and Charmasson will await their fate following the NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show on Wednesday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. to determine whether they qualify as individuals for an NCAA Regional. The selection show will air live on The Golf Channel.
