ORLANDO - Following the end of the 2021 NFL Draft, UCF wide receiver Marlon Williams signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans.
Williams became the sixth Knight to join the professional ranks over the weekend, joining draftees Richie Grant, Aaron Robinson, Jacob Harris, Tay Gowan, and Tre Nixon.
Williams was one of the best receivers in the nation in 2020, catching 71 passes for 1,09 yards and 10 touchdowns in just eight games played. His 8.9 receptions per game ranked third in the nation, while his 129.9 receiving yards per game ranked fifth and his 10 touchdown receptions were seventh in the nation.
He earned first-team all-conference honors from The American and was a third-team All-American according to Pro Football Focus.
Williams finished his career at UCF in the top 10 in program history for receptions (157), receiving yards (2,260) and touchdown catches (19). He was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award for the best receiver in college football in 2020.
He joins former Knight Jordan Akins, who has played the last three seasons with the Texans after getting drafted 98th overall in the third round of the 2018 draft.
