ORLANDO – Johnny Travale is headed to Tallahassee, Florida for his first career NCAA Regional appearance as a Knight. The three-day event will take place from May 17-19 and will be held at the Par 72, 7,505-yard Seminole Legacy Golf Course.
Travale, a second-year Knight from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, was selected to the Tallahassee regional following a season where he led the Knights in scoring average, posting a 71.56 scoring average after competing in all six events for the Knights during the season.
Travale was also unanimously selected to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference team on May 4 after posting one of the top individual seasons in the conference, and he most recently moved one step closer on the road to the 121st U.S. Open Championship after winning the local qualifier at Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida with a 68(-4) 18-hole score.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. Travale is a part of the latter group. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arizona State and The Thunderbirds are the hosts for the 2021 championships.

Hosted by Ball State and Hamilton County Sports Authority, Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. Hosted by Oklahoma State, The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn. Hosted by Vanderbilt and Nashville Sports Council Teams, Championship Course at UNM in Albuquerque, N.M. Hosted by New Mexico, and finally Tumble Creek Golf & Country Club in Cle Elum, Wash. Hosted by Washington.
