Knights Sitting Strong After Day One in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Knights are off to a solid start at the 2021 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in Augusta, Georgia as head coach Bryce Wallor and his men's golf team finished the first two rounds of play in sixth place with a score of 570(-6).
 
The Knights currently lead some of the top teams in the country, including No. 14 Arizona (572, -4), No. 6 Arizona State (576, E) and No. 24 South Florida (582, +6). In sixth place, UCF only trails No. 17 Pepperdine (548, -28), No. 3 Oklahoma State (557, -19), No. 5 Illinois (559, -17), No. 33 Notre Dame (560, -16) and Virginia Tech (564, -13).
 
Two players in the top 15 represent the black and gold as junior Johnny Travale shot three under in each of the first two rounds to finish the day with a 138(-6) total, putting him tied for seventh place. Meanwhile, after shooting even in round one Clement Charmasson posted a team-low 68 round in the second round of play to bring his total to 140(-4).
 
Teddy Tetak shot one over in the first round and finished even in round two to put him at 145(+1) at the end of day one and Max O'Hagan finished the day at 147(+3). Rounding things out, freshman Egor Eroshenko posted a 151(+7) total through the first two rounds.
