ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF women's golf team will compete as the No. 9 seed at the Louisville Regional, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. The Black and Gold finished fourth at the 2021 American Women's Golf Championship to earn an at-large bid.
The Knights are one of 18 schools selected for the Louisville Regional, hosted by University of Louisville. It will take place Monday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 12 at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
Each of the four regional championship sites will feature 54-holes, 18 teams and six individuals. The low six teams and the low three individuals from each regional will advance to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships, to be held at Grayhawk Golf Club, in Scottsdale, Arizona, May 21-26.
This will be UCF's 15th regional appearance for the program, and the seventh in the last 10 seasons. Since Head Coach Emily Marron took over the program during the 2012-12 season, the Knights have not missed an NCAA regional appearance.
The Knights are coming off of a fourth-place finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship, where Tunrada Piddon placed T4 after carding a four-over score through 54-holes. UCF had a pair of Knights named to the AAC Women's Golf All-Conference team on Tuesday, as Tunrada Piddon and Ana Laura Collado picked up honors.
