ORLANDO, Fla. – After pulling off their first win over a top five opponent in program history, the UCF women's tennis team made a double digit jump to No. 8 in the Oracle/ITA team rankings, the highest achieved by the squad.

The Knights top their previous program best of No. 12 which was set early in the 2020 season. The Black and Gold are fresh off a win over then-No. 4 FSU as UCF went into Tallahassee and came away with a 4-3 victory.

There was more than one record set on Wednesday afternoon as Valeriya Zeleva checked in at No. 19 in the singles rankings, setting her personal best as well as becoming the highest ranked singles player in program history for the third straight week. She's won 10 straight matches and is 10-2 on the campaign, earning a 7-2 mark at the top singles spot. Zeleva has earned six victories in eight tries over ranked opponents.

Rebeka Stolmar remains ranked in the top 30 as she sits at exactly No. 30 in this week's singles rankings. She reached double digit victories against FSU as she earned a win on court two and played a big part in upsetting the Seminoles. Stolmar was at a personal best ranking of 28 in last week's rankings.

Evgeniya Levashova made a double digit jump of her own, landing at No. 99 this week in singles. She's been victorious in her last three matches and is 9-4 this season. Levashova has risen as high as No. 85 this season and looks to return to that mark as the team moves into the postseason.

UCF's lone ranked doubles tandem consisting of Stolmar and Marie Mattel checks in at No. 78 this week.

Due to scheduling situations caused by COVID-19, the Oracle/ITA releases a computerized ranking as well as a poll each week. The Black and Gold sit at No. 8 in the computer ranking and No. 9 in the poll. The Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 has UCF at No. 12 this week.
