ORLANDO, Fla. – On Wednesday, the American Athletic Conference announced the 2020 women's soccer awards, voted on by the league's head coaches. Four Knights picked up honors, with Sarai Linder representing the Knights on the First Team All-Conference and All-Rookie Teams, Ellie Moreno and Madsion Murnin were named to the Second Team All-Conference, and Katie Bradley joins Sarai Linder on the All-Rookie Team.
Sarai Linder was named to the First Team All-Conference, as well as a unanimous selection to the All-Rookie Team after her first year as a Knight. The Sinsheim, Germany native primarily played in the midfield for the Black and Gold, leading the team with 650 minutes played and had two assists on the year.
Forward Ellie Moreno and midfielder Madison Murnin were each named Second Team All-Conference. Ellie Moreno follows up an All-Rookie campaign from the Fall 2019 campaign after earning one AAC Offensive Player of the Week and one Weekly Honor Roll in the eight-week season. Murnin earns her first All-Conference honor after logging 539 minutes in the 2020-21 slate, serving as a mainstay in the UCF midfield.
Bolton, England native Katie Bradley also picked up conference honors, named to the AAC All-Rookie Team. In her first season with the Knights, she netted a team-high two goals, with four shots on goal. The freshman also earned an assist to lead the team with five points on the year.
UCF earned the Team Fair Play Award after totaling 73 points (53 fouls, four yellow cards, zero red cards) during conference play. The Fair Play Award is given to the team with the fewest accumulated fouls, yellow cards and red cards in league action (foul = one point, yellow card = five points, red card = 10 points).
