ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team continues their climb up the rankings, checking in at No. 9 in the Oracle/ITA team rankings.

The ranking of No. 9 is a program high, beating the team's previous high of No. 13 which was achieved last week. Prior to this season, the Black and Gold had climbed as high as No. 22. The Knights are in the midst of a terrific season, sitting with a 15-3 record and riding a seven-match winning streak. UCF is one victory away from tying their winning streak of eight from last season. Another victory would also tie the mark for most wins in a campaign during the Roddick era at UCF. The Black and Gold haven't had a season with more than 16 wins since 2003 when they went 20-4 and were crowned champions of the ASUN, earning the first conference title in program history.

UCF picked up three additional wins over ranked opponents this past week, beating No. 14 Wake Forest on Wednesday in a thrilling 4-3 victory that came down to the final court. The weekend saw the Black and Gold beat No. 37 South Florida on the road before returning home to beat No. 25 Tulane.

The ITA released two sets of team rankings this week, a computer version and a coaches poll edition. The Knights are No. 9 in the computer poll and No. 10 in the coaches set of rankings.

The Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 has UCF at No. 13 this week, which is four spots higher than the previous week.

UP NEXT
The Knights will have the week off from match action and return to the courts on Sunday as they host North Florida. This will be the second time this season that the two sides meet; UCF got the best of the Ospreys in their last meeting, sweeping them 7-0 in Jacksonville on Feb. 20.
