ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 16 UCF women's tennis team will spend the weekend right in the middle of the United States as they'll face No. 41 Oklahoma State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and No. 33 Oklahoma on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Cowgirls are taking a break from Big 12 conference play as the Knights are their final out-of-conference opponent during the 2021 regular season. Oklahoma State has hit a bit of a rough patch in their schedule, losing four of their last five to start their Big 12 slate. All four of those opponents were ranked in the top 40, including matches against No. 2 Texas and No. 11 Baylor. Oklahoma State sits at 7-9 coming into the weekend. This is just the second time the Cowgirls and Knights will square off, the last meeting coming on the road in 2019 which snapped UCF's 16-match winning streak.
Oklahoma enters the match with a 10-5 record, coming off a win over No. 41 Oklahoma State their last time out. The Sooners have also had to face the same tough opponents as the Cowgirls as they are out to a 2-3 start in Big 12 play. The Knights and Sooners have only met a total of four times prior, the last meeting coming in 2002.
