Adams Earns Third AAC Freshman of the Week Honor

ORLANDO – The UCF men's basketball team defeated Tulsa and ECU this week to conclude the regular season on a four-game winning streak. Freshman Isaiah Adams was once again an integral part of that and earned American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week honors for his performance in the pair of victories.

Monday marks the third time that Adams has received the accolades this season, also getting the nod on Dec. 21 and Feb. 22. He's now one of four Knights in history to be named AAC Freshman of the Week three times in a season, joining Ceasar DeJesus, B.J. Taylor and Adonys Henriquez.

Adams and Memphis's Moussa Cisse are the only two freshmen in the league to receive the honors three times this season.

The Jacksonville native averaged 17.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in this week's wins over Tulsa and ECU. He shot 50.0 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from 3-point range.

Adams is now averaging 9.8 points per game on the season and ranks eighth in the league with a 47.2 percent mark from the field. He's also second on the team and 15th in the AAC with 1.2 steals per contest.

The Knights will be the sixth seed in this week's American Athletic Conference Tournament. UCF takes on ECU in first-round action, Thursday, March 11 at 7 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPNU and FM 96.9 The Game.
